AMERICAN CREW HAIR LOSS PRODUCTS REVIEW

I was kindly asked by American Crew the world leading Male hair care giant to review a number of their products including their shampoo’s and hair thickening products. I put a few of these products to the test over the last few weeks along with a couple of my trusted hair loss colleagues. American Crew are intending to send me over a further range of Hair Loss specific products which we will review and document in due course.

1. American Crew Anti-Hairloss + Thickening Shampoo

First things first, the fragrance is pretty compelling we found! It makes you feel at peace with having to use an anti-hair loss shampoo in the first place. Now onto the nuts and bolts of it. We’ve been pretty impressed that since using it, my colleague who’s been shedding of late haven’t noticed as much hair fall which is always a bloody good thing. He’s convinced his hair is feeling thicker and I’ve got to say it certainly looks thinker and healthier so two thumbs up to a product living up to its name. I mean I’m not going to count hairs per square inch or anything but the results are nothing but positive. Job well done, American Crew on this product ! It’s definitely one I’m adding into my regime and intend to use it a minimum of 2 x a week.

2. American Crew Classic Grey Shampoo

I had my very good friend put this to the test who’s been fully ‘grey’ for over 5 years. His first comment when i asked him about how he was getting on with the Grey Shampoo was “Brilliant”! – He’d been lamenting his grey hairs when he was put on to American Grew Gray Shampoo. If this stuff could do for teeth what it does for hair, we’d all be swishing and spitting before breakfast! What it does is removes the yellowness from the greys. If you’ve never analysed the actual colour of your grey hair, prepare to be pleasantly introduced to how things can change. No need to use much either, just trust that it’ll do its thing. Get your silver fox on and say goodbye to the dull guy who used to look back at you in the mirror.

3. American Crew Boost Cream

When you want some decent lift to your hair but you absolutely don’t want it to be clumped together, sticky or stiff, Boost Cream does the trick. You get great definition to your style without looking like a throwback to a 1980s power ballad singer. Goes on like a lotion but stays put where you ask it to. Boost indeed! This tube follows me everywhere now so I never have a bad hair day.

4. American Crew Hair Recovery & Thickening Shampoo

This’ll tame the cynic in you. If your hair is fine or thinning, you’ll love this shampoo! When I use it my hair feels clean and refreshed (and smells amazing) and my scalp feels good, not stripped or dry like other products leave it. I’ve noticed it adds more body too so the promise of thickening is actually based in truth. You can feel the quality when you use it and when you’re touchy about what you use on your hair, or you’ve spent a mint on saving or restoring your hair. Give this product a go and trust me you’ll not be disappointed.

5. American Crew Boost Powder

Cool pot, doesn’t spill or make a mess and it’s a fab size for travelling or carrying in your gym bag. As for what’s in it, well I wasn’t sure how pleased I’d be with a matte powder. I thought I’d miss the gloss that creams and waxes deliver but in actual fact, Boost Powder has given me a new lease on hair styling options! It actually has some decent holding power which lasts my whole work day and my hair doesn’t feel like kindling when I touch it. Another top advantage is it doesn’t draw attention to your hair because it doesn’t cause ‘clumping’ like many others products I’ve tried in the past . It doesn’t have much in the way of fragrance so it won’t even interfere with your cologne. ?

6. American Crew Daily Moisturising Shampoo

This is a proper man’s shampoo as it has no feminine fragrance to it. I choose to treat my hair with respect so it’ll do me proud and this is one product that I can count on to make me look and feel good every time. I find it’s especially beneficial when the air is dry and my hair feels a little, shall I say, undernourished. When your scalp starts to itch, you know it’s time to pull out this little number. From the first wash, it felt almost luxurious. My hair was light, clean, soft and revitalised and lasted like that for a couple of days. It’s good to know I can skip a day if I don’t feel like washing it and the world won’t come to a grinding halt. I highly recommend it for anyone suffering from dry hair and scalp.

7. American Crew Anti-Dandruff and Sebum Control Shampoo

When you’ve got an itch, you’ll pay big money to be rid of it. Fortunately, this is a product that doesn’t hold you to ransom. It does what it’s meant to do. If you had a major problem with dandruff, you might name your firstborn son after it out of gratitude! Thanks to the rosemary and peppermint oil, it smells loads better than any tar-based muck I’ve ever used before plus it’s cooling and soothing. The active ingredient is zinc pyrithione which is antifungal and antibacterial and has been proven to supposedly increase hair growth.. ( Don’t hold me to that ) What more could you want from an anti-dandruff product? Oh right, to keep any pesky greasiness at bay too. That’s the ‘sebum control’ element and while this shampoo reverses the flakiness so you don’t look like you’ve caught desiccated coconut on your shoulders, it also doesn’t let the natural oils go berserk. Highly recommended for you peeps who suffer from dandruff!
